Manjaro Linux is an Arch based distribution with a user friendly installation process that will get you up and running in little time compared to other distributions. Offering XFCE as the core desktop, as well as a minimalist Net edition for the more advanced users making this an ideal starting point to get any user up and running an Arch based system. With a large community of support and vast documentation you will be able to find answers to any problems or questions that may arise as you journey down the path of becoming an expert Linux user.
1.) Download Manjaro Linux.
If you have not already done so, you should visit the Manjaro Information page for for system requirements and download links.
2.) Create Bootable Media.
Depending on the age of you machine, you may have a few options on what type of installation media that you can use, aether a bootable CD ROM or DVD ROM or a bootable USB thumb drive.
3.) Booting Media.
On some computers you may be required to change to boot order in your systems CMOS or BIOS in order to get the install process to begin.
4.) Installing Manjaro.
After inserting the media and powering on your machine you will be presented with a few options. Select Start Manjaro Linud from the list and press Enter.
5.) Manjaro Welcome.
After the live desktop is fully loaded you are presented with a welcome screen with links to more information. Close this window to view the desktop.
6.) Live Desktop.
At this point you may explore the operating system before you install it. feel free to look around a bit and get familiar with the live desktop.
7.) Choosing Installation Method.
You will see two different Icons on the Live Desktop one is for command line install and the other will use the graphical installation process. you should click the graphical installation method for a guided install.
8.) Installation Language.
Select your language from the list on the left and click Forward to continue.
9.) Select Location.
Choose the best fit location for where you live, this information will be used later on to determine time zone and mirrors for software and updates, click on Forward to proceed.
10.) Select Time Zone.
Choose your time zone and click Forward to continue.
